Classic Shutters on a Hamptons-Style Home
A recently renovated Hamptons-style family home in Hampton. The owners wanted window treatments that matched the relaxed coastal aesthetic — real timber shutters in a classic white finish were the natural choice.
The renovation had been two years in the making. By the time we were called in, the kitchen, bathrooms and landscaping were all done. The windows were the last piece, and the owners were adamant: they had to be perfect.
We recommended real timber shutters over PVC for this project — the natural grain and slightly warmer texture was more in keeping with the Hamptons aesthetic the family had worked so hard to achieve.
The 63mm louvres suited the heritage-proportioned windows beautifully, and the classic white finish tied everything together. The result is a home that feels complete and considered from every angle.

How Each Space Was Treated

Living & Dining Rooms
The living and dining spaces were dressed with floor-to-ceiling S-fold sheer curtains — the soft, continuous folds suit the relaxed coastal aesthetic perfectly, diffusing natural light throughout the day while keeping the space feeling open and airy. The sheers move beautifully and give the room a finished, effortless quality that works with the Hamptons interior without competing with it.

Bedrooms
The bedrooms received the same layered approach — floor-to-ceiling S-fold sheer curtains for a soft, relaxed look during the day, paired with blockout roller blinds behind for complete darkness at night. The combination suits the Hamptons aesthetic without sacrificing the practicality a bedroom needs. Clean, considered, and easy to live with.

Facade & Kerb Presence
Plantation shutters do more than treat windows — they define a home from the street. The uniform classic white finish across every visible window gives this Hampton home an immediately polished presence. It was the detail that completed two years of renovation work, and the one the owners say guests notice first every time they visit.
